Don’t most of us think men can be frustrating creatures? We have to nag them to get them to do stuff, they are like deer in the headlights when we want to ‘talk’, and they are seemingly oblivious to all the stuff around the house that needs to be done! How is that possible?? Hmmph! And they think WE are mysterious.
Well, Gigi Sage, our resident Man Whisperer, knows a lot about what makes men tick. And a lot of it seems counterintuitive at first glance. But, I assure you it’s not. She just believes that men and women have different natures and the secret to having the relationship you want is understanding male nature and letting it work for you.
I began my “man whispering” journey in Maui, Hawaii 25 years ago when my mentor and partner at that time brought me an article about Monty Roberts “the horse whisperer.” At the time, I was beginning my learning process on becoming a coach and working with people by using specific communication skills to better their businesses, relationships, and lives.
I had never heard of a “horse whisperer” but when my mentor presented me the article he said, "If women took this same approach with men they would get far better results. You should put a class together for women on how to use such an approach.” At first I was resistant "Why didn't men do this for women? Why do we have to do all the work?" I sat with the idea for a couple of weeks and became more fascinated as time went on. Finally, I came to ask myself, “How did Monty Roberts completely transform the accepted view on how to communicate with horses and build a bridge of trust?”
After contemplating this question I organized my first class and went in with one simple idea: If you understand how women and men are different and you accept this in your heart (not just in your head), you have taken the first step to enjoying and appreciating men. I realized that a lot of women had lost touch with their femininity which was the very quality that gave them the ability to be receptive to men. There’s a lot of unlearning that has to happen in order for women to get back in touch with their femininity. When women work with me they often say my approach is counter-intuitive to what they were taught or what they’ve seen other women doing with men. These women have been taught that they can be exactly the same as men, and while it is true that men and women can accomplish the same results, it’s also true that by getting in touch with your feminine side, the same results will come to you more naturally. Getting in touch with your femininity means being in pleasure and truly relaxing. Do things that make you feel sensual and good; go salsa dancing, get a great massage, or take a hot bath. When you get in tune with your own body and get relaxed you will begin to listen to your intuition rather than just your mind. With this relaxation and “ultimate self care” you will naturally become more receptive and magnetic to men. One of my messages to women is that men want to please women but they just don’t know how. Take pleasure in being a woman and allow men to do the things that please you; opening doors for you, carrying your bags, and paying for your meals. Enjoy his natural instinct of wanting to protect and provide for you. Do you have a problem you need to solve? Give it to your man to solve and let him know he is your hero when he comes up with a solution. Let your man succeed in pleasing you and he will move mountains and conquer the world for you.
Wishing you a Joyful Holiday Season,
