Mallon offers 12 paths to to creativity including creative: mapping, myth-making, drawing, dreaming, spirituality, visualisation, and more. Heck, we felt more creative just looking at the marvelous illustrations.
You probably remember Gail Sheehy's Passages. It was truly one of the more influential books of our time. She has now undertaken an exploration of women over 45 and the surge of vitality they are experiencing as they enjoy better health, longer lives and many more options than they've had before. She finds they are more open to love, sex, finding new, passionate pursuits, spirituality, and revitalizing relationships than ever before. One very interesting bit of research she presents is that the genders begin taking on each others' characteristics in their 50s. Women are finding freedom from other responsibilities to explore new horizons while men may be winding down from a demanding career. That could explain a lot. One thing is certain, it makes for interesting times...and interesting reading!
