Are you a woman in her 40s, 50s or 60s who...
Is worried about her job in this economy?
Has been laid off and is having a hard time finding a new job?
Has a job, but doesn’t have the ‘right’ job?
Wants to manage her current career more wisely?
The economic melt-down has all of us nervous about our jobs and the future of our careers.
What to do? Develop CareerSmarts. We've partnered with Kate McLagan of Right Management to help you recession proof your career. Kate works with global companies such as Dell and AMD to help their laid off employees repackage themselves and find new jobs.
Here is what Kate says...
Moving through a layoff, preparing yourself for a possible layoff, or just wisely managing your career in your current organization requires you to understand what your core and unique strengths, or ‘diamonds’, are. Being clear on those 3 to 5 special qualities takes you beyond being just an employee or job-seeker with a laundry list of skills and job titles to being able to confidently convey your real value to an organization. That makes you stand out in the crowd and in this economy that is critical.
You will learn how to:
• To drill down to reveal your unique core job strengths, or ‘diamonds’?
• Your ‘diamonds’ help you find the ‘hidden’ 85% of jobs that lie beneath the surface of job boards and ‘formal’ job postings?
• Your ‘diamonds’ form the basis of your all important ‘personal brand’?
• Your ‘diamonds’ help you network effectively into the right job for you?
• Your ‘diamonds’ will help you ace that important job interview?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of those questions, join WomenBloom members to hear Kate McLagan shed some light on this subject. And, meet other cool midlife women like you!
