As my name states I have 4 great kids, ages 24, 22, 11 and 6. Yes, that's quite a spread. Some folks ask if I'm insane and I can only say that there are days when it keeps me young and others when it makes me feel really, really old! : )

I am a SAHM and a writer, lover of books, movie fanatic, music lover and volunteer extraordinaire. : ) Anyone looking for someone to take on a school or community project always seems to have my number on speed-dial.

I've had a few jobs for which I actually received a paycheck, but never a career more rewarding than motherhood. At this point in my life and with the economy looking as dour as it does, I sure would like to find a way to have it all. You know...make some money and still be able to maintain the status quo around here. I could never afford to pay someone to do for my family all the things I currently do myself, so I really can't afford to go to work. Rock and a hard spot, huh?

I've been enjoying WomenBloom for a few months but I'm just now getting around to joining in. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Are you my twin? Well, after reading your posted message we have a lot in common. I have three, 21, 18 and 6. I've often been called crazy for starting over at 44 with a baby, but my two older ones are my sons from a previous marriage and my 6 year old is my little princess. I can't imagine my life without her.
I also love to write and read. My ideal day would be to spend writing, reading and crocheting (without interruptions). I manage to hold down a full time job and the evenings are of course for my kids. I'm a single mother to all three, even though my oldest seems to think sometimes he is head of household..uh...NOT! He forgets sometimes I am the parent and if I may say so, the boss in this place. I have to remind him sometimes :-).
I commend you on your volunteerism in your community and school. I wish I could do more volunteering. I have volunteered at my daughter's school in the library a couple of times which was fun. And have assisted with small events at the school. My goal this year would be to organize a food pantry at our church. This has been in my heart now for the past year and I just need to implement the plan and move forward.
